What happened to the painting? The artist was my godfather and may fathers cousin.

That’s wonderful! I have it in my dining room! My sister has another of his paintings - a commissioned piece I’d my father’s family homestead in Wisner NE. How amazing that you came across my post!

I was just doing an internet search for LC Faudel and it showed up. I'm trying to figure out the numbering system on the back of the paintings that my daughter and I have. I think the first no is the year that the painting was done and the 3rd number is possibly the no of paintings total that he had done at that time. The middle number is a mystery. Maybe the month the painting was done. Curious what the numbers are on the backs of the 2 your family has. The nos we have are: 64-6-6, 66-12-36, 82-3-446

My heirlooms are the people I've birthed and the friends and family that are framily. And the quiet and growing peace I hope to leave behind. You remind me to value today. Thank you, Friend.

What a lovely tribute to your dad. I think the art work is beautiful! Some treasures I have are special dresses my Mom made for me for my high school dances, graduation, etc. The other things that I enjoy are the card table and her casserole carrier, as she had written her name on them. Seeing her hand-writing is such a treat.

Oh yes - I love the recipes that my mom wrote for me. We have photocopied some of them to share. But the originals are priceless.

Pat was a well respected and loved man. It was special to share his 80th birthday with him and you. He was so tickled to receive so many birthday cards! I remember him proudly showing this piece of art to us as we visited him.
