Spring's Message
Time to Blossom
And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.
-Anais Nin
My Dear Beloved, All this time, I have been holding you. Surrounding you in my nurturing arms. Your roots go deep. They are strong and ground your spirit. They draw the essence of who you are meant to be. As you have grown, you've held your beauty inside, wrapped tightly in a bud. Although it feels safe and cozy, there is more. You are more. When you loosen your grip and let me in, I will keep you nourished with the rain and the sun. Our collective souls hold each other to strengthen our existence. There is no rush. As the sun warms you, reach out. As the evening cools, rest a bit. Take your time. As you open, each day will reveal more. You will not just surprise yourself, but those who see, will be struck with awe. Not everyone will appreciate your beauty. Some will simply keep their heads down. Some will even be frightened by your brightness and avoid your path. But blossom you must, for this is your destiny. Your full beauty seen only when you open, petal by petal. So, my dear Beloved, let go. Release the tightness of your bud and share yourself with the world. You are ready. You have waited long enough. Take a deep breath and blossom. With loving care, Mother Nature
Eight years ago, a friend sent me the Anais Nin quote when I finally decided it was time to end my marriage. I had walked beside her when she made that difficult decision a few years before. I recently found the quote again, tucked in my collection of special things. It became the inspiration for my first tattoo to celebrate sobriety and healing, a permanent reminder of the power of breaking rules and choosing to blossom instead of staying stuck inside my fears. As I see Spring’s buds working so hard to emerge, I reflected again on the words of Anais Nin. I looked to the sun and asked Mother Nature for her message to me as I continue to grow and blossom. This is what she said to me.
With loving wishes,
Amy
I invite you to pause, take a breath, and look to the sun or the stars. What is Mother Nature’s message to you?

Thank you for the quote and your words about it. It is affirming of choices I have made as well as nurturing hope for more buds to find the courage to bloom.
I love that quote, and love how it has helped you in your journey!
