Little Bits of Magic
Capturing Moments Together
It’s day four of our Thanksgiving holiday at the Little House, just a short distance from home, but far enough to get away. As I lift the shade from the picture window, I feel the chill of the November morning. In the beckoning sunshine, I notice the stillness and the frost covering the car’s windshield. Words pop into my mind, as they often do – little bits of magic.
Bits of magic captured through a camera lens, reveal what most would not see. I pause to note the blessings of this November weekend, gently captured – together and alone – in moments.
The detail of a daisy, standing out from its mixed bouquet, holds my gaze.
And then, the wilting flower amidst the perfection of others, nearly discarded until seen closely from a different view.
Bundled up on a morning walk, we pause to ponder the cracks in a frozen puddle in the middle of the country road. On second glance, could it be the image of the moon’s quiet face?
We then take a moment to admire the shimmering reflection along the bank of Mill Creek.
And on the trek back to the Little House, we gaze down the tracks disappearing into gray clouds, imagining our journeys ahead.
Our holiday weekend – intentionally secluded and quiet to notice the bits of magic that are always present. We just need to pause and be still enough to notice.
With loving wishes for more stillness,
Amy

Oh Amy, this is just beautiful. The photographs, yes, but even more your attention to the present and the beauty they captured. Thank you for sharing this with us.
What is before us that just needs time/space for us to see.
